前州国大党主席和州执行委员会成员拿督L. Manickam加入伊斯兰党。

　　现年64岁的巴东杰拉姆曾连任两届国会议员，去年退出国大党。他表示，此举是为了给他提供一个继续为人民服务的平台。

　　他补充说，他在7月21日举行的伊斯兰党支持者大会(DHPP)会议上成为该党成员。

　　"I received my membership card on the same day and was appointed a member of the DHPP central committee as well as permanent chairman of the Negri Sembilan chapter," said the former teacher.

　　"I have been in politics for 45 years and by joining the DHPP, I will ensure the voice of the Indian community will continue to be heard," he added.

　　The former MIC central working committee member said he was also attracted to the party's "PAS for all" slogan, the leadership of its president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and DHPP chief N. Balasubramaniam.

　　“越来越多的人开始接受PAS。我对这个党也很满意，因为国大党曾在伊斯兰党与巫统联合执政时与它合作过。”

　　周四(8月1日)，他在自己的Facebook账户上发表了一条措辞简洁的信息，暗示将加入PAS。

　　当被问及他是否因加入伊斯兰党而受到前党内同事或朋友的批评时，马尼卡姆表示没有。

　　“该国大多数主要政党以前都与伊斯兰党合作过。我不明白为什么我加入PAS会受到任何人的质疑或嘲笑，”他补充道。

　　He said PAS also promoted transparency as the DHPP chief was invited to sit in the meetings of the PAS central working committee.
